The MS/PhD Chemistry programmes were launched in 2014. The MS is a two year degree programmes which comprises both course work and thesis. The 24 credit hour course work of the programme is designed keeping in view the international standards, HEC guidelines and the national requirements. The thesis carries research work worth 6 credit hours. After graduation, the interested students get admissions in foreign and local universities easily which is indicative of the fact that our degree meets the international standards. We have launched BS Chemistry programme in Fall 2018 which is a four year programme in-line with the requirements of the Higher Education Commission for award of degree. The course work of BS Chemistry is designed according to the vision of NUST (See Vision and Mission of NUST) and guidelines of the Higher Education Commission. The programme envisages uplifting of the standards of higher education in Chemistry in Pakistan and is in complete sync with fast growing technological revolution. Department of Chemistry was primarily established in year 2014, within the School of Natural Sciences at main campus NUST. It is an exciting and vibrant place to study in one of the Pakistan's top universities. Currently, it is offering postgraduate & undergraduate degree programs in chemistry discipline. The department has succeeded with faculty of distinguished research and higher qualifications. Department's research facilities, which underpins its research programs includes equipped modern laboratories for chemical synthesis and advanced instruments for spectroscopy, chromatography, mass spectrometry and X-ray crystallography. Our research-led innovative teaching program armed our students with the invaluable problem-solving skills and cutting-edge scientific knowledge as they commence their careers.
