Professor Luca Giuggioli Explores Collaboration Opportunities with NUST for Establishment of Research Centre for Mathematics of Movement.

Professor Luca Giuggioli, a Professor of Complexity Sciences at the University of Bristol, visited the School of Natural Sciences at the National University of Sciences and Technology from November 23-30, 2024. The purpose of his visit was to explore potential collaboration opportunities for establishing a Centre for the Mathematics of Movement at the University of Bristol, UK.
During his visit, he delivered two insightful talks. The first focused on “Stigmergy and the Emergence of Territoriality in Scent-Markings Animals,” while the second addressed “Resolving a Century-Old Problem on Lattice Random Walks and Its Applications to Random Search in a Multi-Target Environment: From Foraging Processes to Infection Transmission.” Throughout the week, he held meetings with students and faculty to exchange ideas. In addition to the seminars, Professor Luca actively engaged with students and faculty in fruitful academic discussions.
