-

Congratulations to Dr. Manzar Sohail (Associate professor, Department of Chemistry, SNS, NUST) and his MS student Ms. Anosha Rubab for publishing a high impact review article in the prestigious “Chemical Engineering Journal (Impact factor 10.652, Q1 paper). This is the first comprehensive review on the ultrathin Borophene based materials. Borophene is tagged as magical and groundbreaking material of future and displays extraordinary properties. Borophene is a great conductor of heat and electricity and exhibits high anisotropy and great flexibility. This review provided the current status of borophene, synthesis, and applications which is in its infancy. Borophene is being explored in the field of gas storage, batteries, catalysis, and sensors. It can help to achieve powerful high-performance batteries by serving as an electrode material and it has an excellent capacity to sense various toxic gases. It is predicted that borophene has a powerful capacity to store hydrogen fuel and act as a catalyst. In the coming years, the rapid surge in the borophene research to experimentally utilize its catalytic, electronic, and mechanical features is anticipated. It is anticipated that this publication will draw great interest and attention of the scientific community.
